UN rights chief backs call for probe into Iran crisis

UN human rights chief Volker Türk urged the Human Rights Council on Thursday to set up an independent investigation into ongoing deadly violence against protesters in Iran, where security forces have used “live ammunition, birdshot and other metal pellets, teargas and batons”.
