What We Did in 2018...

Coming Soon! Our Next Adopt-A-Future Project!

In June 2018, UNA Pasadena presented a joyous evening of music performances in association with the acclaimed Colburn School. Your ticket purchases to this very special event provided educational opportunities to children who would otherwise not have access to education in refugee camps. We invite you to watch the video below for insight into the healing power that music has provided one young refugee from Syria, and to learn more about the Adopt-A-Future Benefit Concert.
The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, is working to prevent a lost generation by educating refugee children in camps and other settings around the world. But they need our help. In response to this call, UNA-USA has recently partnered with USA for UNHCR — the only organization in the United States authorized by UNHCR to raise awareness and funds for the United Nations — to launch the Adopt-a-Future initiative, which links Americans directly to students and schools around the world. Check out the UNHCR’s report, Left Behind: Refugee Education in Crisis, which tells the stories of some of the world’s 6.4 million refugee children and adolescents under UNHCR’s mandate who are of primary and secondary school-going age, between 5 and 17. Also check out the UNHCR’s report on Kenya’s primary education.

Our next Adopt-A-Future is coming in June! Details coming!

Or Model UN...

"How have I not been doing this all these years?"
Yiming Ye
Senior at Arcadia High School who represented Lebanon on the UN High Commission for Refugees Committee on the Syrian Refugee Crisis at our 2016 conference.

Half a Million Americans have participated in Model UN.

MUN has seen rapid growth over the past several decades and several of today’s leaders in law, government, business, and the arts participated in MUN – from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, to Chelsea Clinton, to actor Samuel L. Jackson.

The Pasadena Chapter offers in‐class training for high school classes. This equips participants with an understanding of UN processes and grounding in simulations so they are ready for full engagement in a fantastic conference.
