Please join us for one of the highlights of our chapter’s calendar. We will celebrate our five UNA essay contest winners and their families. This year’s essay question dealt with how UN agencies work to contribute to a more peaceful world. Our winners tackled the topic and vigor and we have been told by their American History teacher, Rita Torres, that the contest “motivated them in ways you cannot believe!” She will help present the certificates and awards.
The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) is a movement of Americans dedicated to supporting the United Nations. With over 20,000 members (60% under the age of 26) and more than 200 chapters across the country, UNA-USA members are united in their commitment to global engagement and their belief that each of us can play a part in advancing the UN’s mission and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
