Ginny Hatfield, long-time member of the UNA-USA SFV Chapter, was recently honored by her Congressman, Tony Cardenas, in recognition of her many years of community activism on behalf of women and issues important to them. A tribute to her years of volunteerism on behalf of AAUW and UNA-USA among other organizations was read into the Congressional Record on March 21, 2024.

With over 20,000 members (60% under the age of 26) and more than 200 chapters across the country, UNA-USA members are united in their commitment to global engagement and their belief that each of us can play a part in advancing the UN’s mission and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

I hope this message finds you all in great spirits. 

I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ginny Hatfield on her exceptional achievement of decades of unwavering dedication to the cause of human rights. Ginny’s tireless efforts and steadfast commitment to advocating for women and various other critical issues have left an indelible mark on our community.

It’s truly inspiring to see Ginny’s passion and hard work recognized by Congressman Tony Cardenas through this well-deserved tribute. Having her years of selfless volunteerism acknowledged in the Congressional Record is a testament to her incredible impact and the respect she commands.

Ginny’s contributions as a pillar of our organization and the UNA-USA SFV Chapter and her collaboration with various organizations have been instrumental in advancing our shared goals. Her leadership and dedication have undoubtedly inspired and uplifted us all.

On behalf of everyone, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Ginny for her outstanding service and her tireless efforts to promote human rights and empower women. Her legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.
