Andrea Castillo
Home Team Program Manager
Andrea Castillo, Home Team Program Manager, will share her experiences in working with refugee communities around the world and in particular with the new challenges presented by the war in Ukraine. Greater SoCal is home to a large population of Ukrainian refugees and Andrea will brief us on what her organization does to obtain sponsors, welcome new arrivals and help them settle in; and most importantly, tell us how we all can help.
Homes for Refugees will join UNA-USA San Fernando Valley Chapter as we explore how this nonprofit is providing much needed assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Greater SoCal. Home for Refugees USA is a faith-based organization that advocates for resettlement assistance and creates community relationships for ongoing support to help alleviate our worldwide refugee crises.
The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) is a movement of Americans dedicated to supporting the United Nations. With over 20,000 members (60% under the age of 26) and more than 200 chapters across the country, UNA-USA members are united in their commitment to global engagement and their belief that each of us can play a part in advancing the UN’s mission and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
